Staff:

COVID19 Safety Procedures

  • All staff have received both doses of their COVID19 vaccine within the last 3 months.

  • Temperature is taken of each staff member at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day to ensure they do not have a fever.

  • Staff with any COVID19 symptoms are to remain at home and cannot return to the office until they received a negative COVID19 test.

  • Additional hand cleaning and hand sanitizing procedures are in place to ensure the best hand hygiene practices.

PPE Used:

COVID19 Safety Procedures

  • Staff members are required to wear a surgical mask at all times while on site.

  • Dentists, assistants and hygienists must wear a full face shield over their mask as well as gloves and an impervious lab coat during patient procedures.

Equipment Sterilization:

COVID19 Safety Procedures

  • All instruments are fully sanitized following Infection Control regulations using both an ultra sonic cleaner and a high temperature autoclave.

  • Sterilization equipment is routinely cleaned and maintenance is regularly performed according to the schedule recommended by the manufacturer. Additional testing is periodically performed to guarantee the sterilization equipment is functioning properly.

  • We are following all CDC and manufacturer protocols for cleaning and storage of air compressor, vacuum and suction lines, radiography equipment, high-tech equipment, amalgam separators, and other dental equipment.

Office:

COVID19 Safety Procedures

  • Patients are requested to wait in their car until called in to reduce the number of interactions and promote social distancing.

  • All patients are thoroughly screened prior to entering our building. Their temperature is then taken and recorded.

  • All patients are required to wear their own masks and will be provided with a surgical mask and clean, disposable gloves prior to entering the treatment rooms. Gloves are then to be disposed of prior to leaving our building, after the patient has received their treatment.

  • If any paperwork needs to be completed, the patient will be given an unused, clean pen that they can either keep or dispose of.

  • Our office is fully equipped with hand sanitizer placed throughout our building and in each treatment room as well as automatic soap dispensers in the bathroom.

  • Each dental provider sees only one patient at a time. Only one patient per room at a time.

Treatment Rooms:

COVID19 Safety Procedures

  • All treatment rooms are outfitted with portable high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) air filtration units and ventilation systems.

  • Additional time is scheduled between patients to allow for more extensive sanitation and cleaning procedures. Specialty, hospital-grade cleaning products are used to fully disinfect the rooms according to the guidelines outlined by Infection Control.

  • Additional disposable plastic coverings are used, which are changed after each patient.

  • We are avoiding aerosol generating procedures, unless absolutely needed. When aerosol generating procedures are necessary, we use four-handed dentistry (dentist plus assistant), high evacuation suction, and dental dams to minimize droplet spatter and aerosols.
