2017 has been one crazy year, a year I will never forget and a year that will forever change my life!
My top 6 moments and lessons from 2017.
#1. Be your own #happiness.
Our adorable #mutt Georgia had surgery to prevent her knee from popping out of its socket. She may not have enjoyed the surgery itself but she surely has enjoyed running- instead of limping- through 2017. Never let anything get in your way, not even your own leg.
#2. #Believe in yourself.
I finally left corporate #dentistry for good after a company I was with threatened to sue me. I refused to complete procedures that were unnecessary- root canals or fillings that frankly, weren't needed- and instead I stuck to my personal code of #ethics. I became a #dentist to help people and that's what I intend to do.
#3. #Live in the moment.
Dallas, our first #rescue #dog, turned 10 in November 2017. As much as it makes me sad that he is getting older, I am very #happy to have been a part of his life for so many years. Each day he reminds me what is important in #life.
#4. #Practice makes perfect.
#Nicole & I became senior brown belts in #Taekwondo. We've now been practicing #TKD for about 2 years, after Nicole purchased me a trial period for #Christmas 2014. It's been one of the best things and we've made life-long friends. Plus, each day, I become more and more like Chuck Norris. (haha)
#5. Don't stop #believing.
We helped a wonderful dog find her forever home. Charli, the Australian Cattle Dog, first came into our lives in July 2017, when she was only 3 months old. She lived with us for about a month while she learned the basics skills and manners. She went back to her owners at the time and eventually made her way back to us when they realized she was just a bit too high energy for her family. Our neighbor met her & it was a match made in #heaven. Charli has never been happier!
#6. Make your #dreams come true.
2017 is the year that I made the decision to leave corporate dentistry for good. I decided that if I were going to continue practicing dentistry, the only way I could do so was to have my own practice. Initially I looked into purchasing a practice from a retiring dentist but let's just say that the process is a bit more complicated than it sounds. So I reached out to Dr. Steven Greenabum of the Star Dental Group in Warren, NJ, who has been my mentor since my application into dental school.
Dr. Greenbaum instead gave me an amazing opportunity to start my own practice. And so Deluxe Dental Group of Warren, NJ was born. I could never thank him and all the supportive staff at the Star Dental Group enough for making my dreams come true. Thank you!
